Larry K. & Lorna Collins > EPICon
EPICon 2010 New Orleans, LA, March 4 - 7, 2010
New Orleans was the venue for EPICon 2010. What a great city! We presented a workshop called 25 Words or Less: Writing the Perfect Pitch. Lorna moderated the publishers' panel again. But the highlight for her was presenting the 2010 EPIC eBook Award for nonfiction to good friends Leonard and Luanna Rugh for their book, Promises Kept. read more.
EPICon 2009 Lake Las Vegas, Nevada, March 5 - 8, 2009
Another delightful event. But we ended up doing much more than we had expected. We presented two workshops. Lorna took part in one panel discussion and moderated another. Then, at the last minute, we were asked to do the keynote address! And it was still wonderful to be with good friends again.

EPICon 2008 Portland, Oregon, March 6 - 9, 2008
What's better than good friends, great conversation, interesting workshops, good food, and spending time with people who "get it?"
"Get what?" you ask. Well, who other than writers understands what you mean when you say your characters have minds of their own? Only another author can sympathize when you tell them, "My character asked, 'You want me to do WHAT?'"
The New Voices kids were a joy to be around. Alex, the only boy, joined our class or Writing Nonfiction, and contributed, too, once he got over his shyness! His mother could have lit up the room; she was just glowing. Debi Sullivan is already planning a G-rated track for Saturday next year so that the kids can have a complete class schedule to attend.
We all agreed that this conference is rather like a family reunion - but of family we choose to be around, not the ones we're stuck with!
