About the book

Can objects contain magic? The Sullivan sisters think so. On Christmas Eve, 1958, Great Aunt Maude gives a beautiful and unique snowflake ornament to each of the girls:Allegra--thirteen, Sonata--twelve, Melody--nine and Carole--eight.Many years later, they learn that she might have crocheted a little something extra into their gifts.
In Snowflake Secrets, each girl recounts how she discovered the magic. As they communicate their revelations to each other and their dying mother, they discover the secret they share. Every narrative is unique and told in a different voice. That's because there are four separate authors: Allegra by Lorna Collins; Sonata by Christie Shary; Melody by Luanna Rugh and Carole by Sherry Derr-Wille. Although told separately, they are all woven into the larger story of Snowflake Secrets, an inspirational tale of family and love and finding joy.

*Sonata by Christie Shary is a 2009 EPPIE Finalist

Readers' Comments

"Snowflake Secrets is an anthology that will inspire you and lift your spirits as you watch four sisters come to terms with themselves, each other and the death of their mother. The stories are all written by well-known authors that tell engaging stories about life, love and family and how they all shape who we are. A good inspirational read that will have you laughing, crying and thankful for all the special someone's in your life." Reviewed by Whitney, Simply Romance Reviews

"All in all, this is an excellent read. Fans of romance will enjoy Snowflake." - Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for ReviewYourBook.com

"Snowflake Secrets is an awesome collection of stories. It shows the reader each of the sisters. They have each gone on to live separate lives but they are still connected to each other in a way that they cannot ignore. Old handmade snowflakes are the "threads" that tie them together but their memories and shared experiences keep them close too. I really enjoyed this. I'll probably read it again next winter. It is the perfect holiday story." 5 Angels! Reviewed by: Carly, Fallen Angel Reviews

"A hand crocheted snowflake is the common thread in each story. The three sisters have unique personalities just as God made them. Each lead character matures and grows stronger as the story develops. I like these stories. My only criticism for this book is for two of the stories. Derr-Wille and Shary use church attendance to enhance their story. "If she had not gone to church, Nancy would not have offered her the jobc.etc." Allegra renewed her acquaintance with Drew at church. If the authors wanted to bring church in to the foray, I wish they had stuck to Christian values--abstinence before marriage. I realize this is a minute point but it does distract from the plot. The intimate scenes are sensual and well-written. I just wish they had not mixed the two. All in all, this is an excellent read. Fans of romance will enjoy Snowflake." - Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for ReviewYourBook.com

SNOWFLAKE SECRETS, a gentle story chocked full of human failings, desires, new beginnings, and continuity of family strengths, takes the reader through some memorable times of the '60's, '70's, '80's, and '90's that many will identify with. The dedication: “To all those who still believe…” had me hooked. I try to enjoy every day as the gift that it truly is and when I read this dedication I just smiled. What awesome and inspiring words from talented authors. This simple statement gives you a glimpse into their soul. RebeccasReads.com

Four sisters gifted with four unique glittered snowflakes. When will their Great-Aunt Maude's gifts truly be revealed? Get out the Kleenex you'll need it. Not only are the stories within "Snowflake Secrets" uplifting; they're tearjerkers that had this non-romantic wrapped around their authors' little fingers. The Chris Chat Reviews
